September 11 - Update
Almost all of the caterpillars are in a chrysalis. Pictures and the chrysalis count to be posted tomorrow.
Exploring!
We found a very curious little caterpillar today. This little guy thought he should take a little experimental mental loop around the classroom.
Shedding Skin
The butterflies have been shedding their skin. They shed a total of 5 times before entering a chrysalis. They shed their skin starting from their bottom and working their way to the top. The skin is black and wrinkly when it comes of and under the old skin their is a fresh layer of new skin.
Bigger and Bigger!
The butterflies have grown so much! They are about 3x as big as they were last friday.
